Wand Archery
This form of archery involves shooting at a tall narrow target from up to 140 yards away. The ‘wands’ are six feet tall and six inches wide positioned in a 6 foot diameter ‘ring’. You score 10 for hitting the wand and 1 for a ring. A single wand shoot consists of 6 ends of 6 arrows each (36 arrows in total).
South Wilts Archery Club held their Inaugural Open Wand Shoot in 2011, where of the 2232 arrows loosed, only 57 found a wand so its not easy, but it is good fun!
