Autumn Open 2011

The weather! What happened? I did complain to a certain Mr Simpson of Ballands that he didn’t need to bring their weather with him! But fortunately after heavy rain leading up to Walk Out and a very heavy shower while everyone was waiting for the start horn, things gradually improved during the day and we even had a few sunny periods mid afternoon.

123 archers completed the 40 target course where we used the wasp peg to allow us to set a slightly different course for styles shooting non-wooden arrows, the red peg being used for the traditional styles. It seemed to work and the reaction from the customers was complimentary.

Yet again the staff in our 5* Archer’s Kitchen did a grand job and even the sight of Mike in that apron didn’t frighten them away! So well done again Pete, the whole field crew, Ali & the catering gang and last but not least Kira the Raffle Kid.

We hope to see some of you at our Not Boxing Day Shoot (27 Dec) and lots of you at the Bluebell Weekend – there will be camping and evening meals, etc 5 & 6 May 2012.
